Entry requirements

For certificate courses, ie. Certificate III in Children’s Services , Certificate III in Tourism, & Certificate III in Hospitality

• completion of Year 10 or equivalent, or have relevant industry experience
• overseas students must show proof of their English language proficiency
• minimum requirement is IELTS score 5.5 or equivalent
• overseas students must be over 18 years of age.


For Diploma of Marketing or Diploma of Management

• completion of Certificate IV in Business or equivalent, or have relevant industry experience
• overseas students must show proof of their English language proficiency
• minimum requirement is IELTS score 6 or equivalent
• overseas students must be over 18 years of age.


For Diploma of Hospitality

•  students must be at least 18 years of age and will need to have completed Year 12 or equivalent
•  minimum requirement is IELTS score 6 or equivalent.


For Diploma of Children’s Services

Students enrolling must have successfully completed prerequisite units of the CHC30708 Certificate III in Children’s Services.   Overseas students must show proof of their English language proficiency requirement IELTS 6 or equivalent.  Overseas students must be over 18 years of age.

All students doing Children’s Services courses will be required to complete a Prohibited Employment Declaration at enrolment for all MEGT Institute Children’s Services Courses.

Student responsibilities

If you are holding a Student visa, you must comply with the conditions on your visa while studying and living in Australia. The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) imposes the following conditions:

• You must attend a minimum of 20 scheduled course contact hours per week.

• You must achieve a satisfactory academic result.

• You must study at the MEGT Institute for the first six months of your principal course. You may change education
   provider only in exceptional circumstances.

• You must notify the MEGT Institute of your address in Australia within 7 days of arrival or changing your address;

• If you wish to work while studying, you must apply for Permission to Work.

• You must maintain Overseas Student Health Cover during your stay in Australia.

• You must hold a valid visa while in Australia. Remember to renew your visa if it is about to expire and you 
   need to extend your stay in Australia.
