What is an Education Agent?
An Education Agent can
- • provide students with information about the Australian education system and Australia as a study destination
• provide information about courses and entry requirements
• assist students with the application process and required documentation
• help students with visa application (if they are qualified to do so) and other arrangements.
The role and responsibilities of an MEGT Education Agent
An MEGT Education Agent will:
- represent MEGT Institute in promoting courses offered by the institute to potential students
- provide students with accurate up-to-date information on the Australian education system and the
courses offered by the Institute
- provide students with information on living in Australia – the cost of living, accommodation, lifestyle, culture
- help students with the enrolment process
- not provide unauthorized migration advice.
The Education Service for Overseas Students Act 2000 (The ESOS Act) imposes certain obligations and requirements on the providers of education and training courses to overseas students and those providers’ education agents including the obligations set out in the National Code for Registration Authorities and Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2007 (The National Code).
All MEGT agents must be aware of and comply with the requirements of the ESOS Act
