Student visa

All international students need a student visa to study in Australia, which must be granted before starting your course. The first step is accepting your offer of a place at MEGT Institute, via payment of your tuition fees and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) and receiving of the Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) from MEGT Institute. You can then use the CoE to apply for your student visa through the Australian High Commission or Consulate in your country. The CoE contains information such as the commencement and end dates of your studies, which are used by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) to issue the student visa.

To find out your Assessment Level and the most updated information on student visas, you can refer to the DIAC website.

The student visa is entered into your passport and is issued for the duration of the initial course of study. It will also enable you to re-enter Australia if you leave the country.

Work visa

In order to get legal permission to work, an application for Student Visa and Permission to Work (Form 157) should be made after your enrolment. You will need your passport and payment of AU$60 to do this.

You can lodge your application with MEGT Institute and payment can be made by electronic transfer or credit car. If you do decide to work you will need to apply for a tax file number. Student Services can supply you with the necessary forms and will assist you with any other related queries.
